Chapter IV (21 - 42)

\ निराशीर्यतचित्तात्मा   त्यक्तसर्वपरिग्रहः   । शारीरं   केवलं   कर्म   कुर्वन्नाप्नोति   किल्बिषम्   ॥   २१   ॥ Without hope, the body and mind controlled and all possessions relinquished, he does not suffer any evil consequences, by doing mere bodily action. (IV - 21) Niraashee:  One who has no hopes and expectations.  Expectations lead to disappointments and depressions.  The mind is bound by these.  The mind without these is liberated. Yatha Chittaatmaa:  The one who has restrained the mind.  Unrestrained mind loafs around and sways self with it.   It is binding.  A controlled mind is peaceful and liberating.
