PHRASES IN THE GITA - 30

जन्म कर्म च में दिव्यम्। .. (अध्याय ४ - श्लोक ९)
ஜன்ம கர்ம ச மே திவ்யம் ... (அத்யாயம் 4 - ஶ்லோகம் 9)
Janma Karma cha Me Divyam ...  (Chapter 4 - Shloka 9)

MEANING :  "My life and deeds are Divine.  My inherent Nature is Divine.  The purpose of my Life and my deeds is Divine."  Though Shri Krishna says this about Himself.  But, this applies to every one of us.

Life is Divine.  The Body, Mind, Intellect, Qualities, Abilities and other such Instruments bestowed on me are Divine.  The various actions I perform through these instruments are Divine.  The ver purpose of my Life is Divine.  The Land on which I am born, the Family and Society around me are Divine.  My ancestors are Divine and the priceless gifts I inherited from them, namely, Culture, Languages, the literature in various languages, Music and other art-forms, the various social systems, are all Divine.

The toughest challenge before me is 'whether I realize this' at some age, before I exhaust my life-time.  If I realize this, will I dare to lose this opportunity offered to me ??  If I realize this, ... I'll cease to be 'ignorant' who barters a diamond stone, without knowing it to be one, for some petty, but pretty glass or plastic objects ??  Will I squander away precious Time in unworthy entertainments and chi-chats ??  Will I inflict damage to the precious gift called 'human body', through unnecessary habits ??  If I realize this, will I pledge and devote all my energy and efforts to every 'Tom, Dick and Harry', only to earn two handfuls and fill my stomach ??  If I realize this, will dedicate Mind, Intellects, qualities and abilities in the service of crooked and selfish individuals and agencies ??  If I realize this, will I sour relationships with my parents, my brothers and sisters and others around me with comparisons and disputes over assets, money and other petty matters ??  If I realize this, will I support, knowingly or unknowingly, tacitly or directly, forces working frantically to pollute my Land, pollute and destroy my languages, damage and eliminate social systems and Culture ??  If only I realize this, will I live like a 'Solomon Grundy', born, christened, fed, grown, diseased dead and cremated ??

Do the friends, relatives and other persons around me know me and my life to be Divine??  It is doubtful, if they'll.  No.  A big No should be the answer in all probabilities.  Among those who lived during Shri Krishna's lifetime, almost all (except very few) never knew Him to be Divine.  Twelve years after He had left home, after He had attained Self realization and had gained over two thousand disciples, his father asked Shri Goutham Buddha to return home and assured to 'forgive' him.

So, let me not bother about that.  Let me not worry about getting a Certificate from relatives and friends and other persons around us.  Whether they know me to be Divine, whether they  are ignorant or whether they contest and dispute Divinity in me is solely upto them and their stature.  Neither need I feel elated if they realize Divinity in me, nor get anxious if they dispute, nor get upset at their ignorance.

(இசைக்கும் மொழி கிடையாது . கவிதைக்குதான் மொழி . தமிழிசை மன்றம் என்பதெல்லாம் அபத்தம் .) தமிழகத்திற்கு வடக்கில் பாரத தேஶத்தின் அத்தனை ப்ராந்தங்களும் (கேரளம் தவிர்த்து) உள்ளன . தெலுங்கு , மராடீ , போஜ்புரி , குஜராதீ ... அனைத்து மொழிகளும் வட திஶையில் பேசப்படும் மொழிகள் .  இவை எல்லாம் வடமொழிகள் . (கன்யாகுமரி ஆளுக்கு சென்னை பாஷை கூட வடமொழிதான்) . இந்த எல்லா மொழிகளிலும் இந்த ஶப்தங்களுக்கு எழுத்துக்கள் உண்டு .   தெலுங்கில் జ  , స  , హ .. . என்றும் ,   கன்னடத்தில்   ಜ , ಸ , ಹ , ಕ್ಷ .. என்றும் , மராடீயில் . ज , स , ह , श , क्ष,.. என்றும் குஜராதியில்     જ , સ , હા , ક્ષ  , என்றும் ,   ப...

Chapter IV (1 - 20)

\   ADHYAAY IV   GYANA KARMA SANYASA YOGAM Introduction This chapter named ‘Gnyana Karma Sanyasa Yog’ is a special one, as this is where Shri Krishna reveals the secrets of Avatara to Arjuna.
