PHRASES IN THE GITA - 110
PHRASES IN THE GITA - 110
बोधयन्तः परस्परम् ... (अध्याय १० - श्लोक ९)
போதயந்தஹ பரஸ்பரம் .. (அத்யாயம் 10 - ஶ்லோகம் 9)
Bodhayantah Parasparam ... (Chapter 10 - Shlokam 9)
Meaning : Mutually illumine each other ...
Speech should be meaningful . Speech does not become meaningful on account of the words but by the intention or purpose of the talk . Speech should be purposeful .
Bodhayantah Parasparam ... Illumine each other , Mutually illuminating speech ... This is a great attribute of a Bhakta . He speaks sense . He speaks with a purpose . He speaks only to educate , to clarify , to create Divine Awareness .
Speech is a unique and a special faculty provided by the Creator only to humans . We have our sound producing system in our throats . All of us , the adults who know the language , the child which does not know the language , the dumb who can not speak , the mentally deranged ones who do not know how to speak ... all use their vocal chords to raise sounds , a lot of sounds and assume they are talking . These are less of speech and more of sounds as these are created without awareness of what and why . The words just come out like the blah blah of a drunkard .
Speech should be meaningful . Speech does not become meaningful on account of the words but by the intention or purpose of the talk . Speech should be purposeful .
Bodha is a state of awareness . Self awareness is the Light within . If there is Light within, if there is Self Awareness , the speech naturally becomes meaning ful and purposeful , not only the speech but actions and thoughts as well . There is no scope for meaningless and unnecessary action , speech or thought .
Bodhayantah Parasparam ... Illumine each other , Mutually illuminating speech ... This is a great attribute of a Bhakta . He speaks sense . He speaks with a purpose . He speaks only to educate , to clarify , to create Divine Awareness .
When such devotees are together , they share speech , content that illumines each other and they remain ever Joyous in this endeaveour , says Shri Krishna .
