SHREE GURU POORNIMA
Guru Shishya relationship is based on Sneha and Bhakti .. Love and Devotion .. Love and affection in the hearts of Guru for the Shishya and Bhakti , devotion in the hearts of Shishya for the Guru ..
Guru is Unique because he has no reason to Love his Shishya , no blood relationship , no expectation in return .. yet he loves his Shishya deeply .. The Love is Nirapeksha .. nothing in return .. It is just Love ..
Guru gives everything he has to lift Shishya to his own level ..
Guru is one who never gets jealous but is filled with Joy when he sees his shishya reaching greater hights than himself ..
Upadesha is Upa - Desha .. Desha is to talk , to show .. Upa is a prefix which means ... 'near' One who sits near and talks .. The Guru is near the Shishya .. Hence , his character and conduct are visible to the Shishya ..
In the Gita , Shri Krishna expects three things from a Shishya .. Namaskar .. total humility ... PariPrashna .. Ask questions , seek clarifications .. and Sewa .. Serving the Guru ,
Three happenings in our school on Shri Guru Pooja day .. Children offered worship to Shri Veda Vyasa , Shri Adya Shankara and Shri Kanchi Acharyas ..in the morning .. Then the School Library was inaugurated , with a beautiful elaboration by Shri K V Balakrishnan .. a retd . State Bank Manager ..
Seminar in the evening On Guru .. Teachers in our school , teachers of nearby schools and parents of our school children participated .. Very good presentations , especially by Shri MuthuKrishnan of Renga Matriculation School , Shri Subrahmanian , the Vadhyar at Veda PathaShaalaa and Shrimati Yogambal , a mother .. For many children and even teachers , this was a "first time" experience of Shri Guru Poojan and Guru Poornima In fact , today , that is the Full Moonday of Ashada Month or Shri Guru Poornima ought to have been declared as the Teachers' Day in Independent Bharat .. ..
