PHRASES IN THE GITA - 181

Prabhavishnu Cha BhootaBhartru Cha Grasishnu .. (Chapter 13 - Shlokam 16)

Meaning :  He is the Creator , Protector and Destroyer of all Lives ..

These are three major actions in the world ..  Creation , Maintenance and Destruction ..  In fact , these three actions are inevitable in every field of activity ..  For instance in Industrial field ..  Erection of factory , production and installation of machines and production of things using the machines ..  Maintenance of factory , maintenance of machines and maintenance of the products by its buyer ..  Destruction or elimination of wastes , garbage , scrap created during production , destruction of defective products , destruction of out dated machines ..  These three activities are inevitable in our houses too ..  House is constructed , maintained and dismantled when it becomes old ..  Food is cooked , preserved and then wastes disposed off ..  Worship articles are created , kept safely and then destroyed ..  Nature too has only these activities .  Huge rivers , seas , mountains , cities and even countries have disppeared from face of the earth ..

All these three actions are difficult ..  Creation is difficult .  It requires Knowledge ..  That is hence , Saraswathi , the Goddess of Knowledge is with Brahma the Creator among the Trinity ..  Maintenance is difficult too ..  As annihilation or destruction is inevitable in Nature , Preservation or Maintenance is all the more difficult as it is against Natural Law ..  Maintenance requires Wealth and other resources ..  Hence , Shri Mahalakshmi , the Goddess of Wealth stands by Shri Mahavishnu , the Protector among the Trinity ..  Destruction is also difficult ..  Power is essential for destruction ..  Hence , Shakti , the Mother and Goddess of Power is with Shri Mahadeva , the Destroyer among the Trinity ..

"All these three are Deeds of Shri Paramaatman" says Shri Krishna ..
