PHRASES IN THE GITA - 188
Taasaam Brahma MahadYonihi Aham BeejaPradah Pitaa .. (Chapter 14 - Shlokam 4)
Meaning : Mother Prakruti is the Mother to all the bodies of lives born in so many hues and colours .. I am the Father who offers the Seed in birth of all these lives ..
How do we get born in this world ?? We spend close to ten months in the womb of mother .. Our bodies are created , nourished and grown in Mother's womb .. The mother offering her womb , helps in building up of the body .. The food she partakes nourishes her own body , no doubt , but also provides nourishment to the child growing in her womb .. Thus she is mother to the body .. The life in the body , functional potential of physical body is due to the Chaitanya Beejam or seed offered by Father ..
Shri Krishna speaks a great fact here .. Shri Parameshwara is the Father to all of us .. Our bodies are constituted by the five basic elements , infinitesimal portions of MahaBhoota or Cosmic Elements , which in turn is manifestation of Prakriti .. Thus , Prakruti is Mother to all of us . She nourishes and nurtures our bodies .. Our bodies are enlivened by Jeeva , an infinitesimal part of Cosmic Purusha .. The inert body earns functional powers due to existence of Jeeva (Atman when attached to Vasanas or desires is Jeeva .. This difference between Aatman and Jeeva is same as the difference between Shri Paramaatman and Purusha .. Shri Paramaatman , the Pure , Unchanging , beyond all Guna and Karmas desired to create and manifested as Purusha .. The Purusha created Maya or Prakruti and united with Her to Create the universe ..) Thus with the Aatman being a Speck of Paramaatman , Purusha being a manifestation of Paramaatman , Shri Paramaatman is Father to us .. Not only humans , Shri Paramaatman is Father to all lives ..
Swami Vivekananda while addressing the Pastors of Christian faith said , "Human is Child to Immortality .. Child to Shree Paramaatman .. All the Lives are but His Infinitesimal parts .. It is a Sin to call humans 'Children of Sin , which the Christianity does ..It is a Sin to address him as Sinner" Shri Krishna's words here in the Gita offer basis for Swamiji's words .. The Veda also calls humans as Amrutasya Putrah or children of Immortality .. Amrutasya Putro(a)ham ..
