स यज्ञः सात्त्विकः .. (अध्याय १७ - श्लोक ११)
ஸ யக்ஞஹ ஸாத்வீகஹ .. (அத்யாயம் 17 - ஶ்லோகம் 11)
Sa Yagyah Saathvikah .. (Chapter 17 - Shlokam 11)
Meaning : This sacrifice is Saattvika ..
How will be the sacrifice conducted by a person with dominant Sattva Guna ?? Shri Krishna mentions three special traits in such a person .. These are are identifications of a person with dominant Sattva and will be found in every action of these persons and and in his interests too ..
Aphalaankshee : Phala is fruit .. A Sattva Gunee is not attached to fruits of his actions .. He is unconcerned whether the fruits are got or denied ...
Vidhi Drushtah : He acts within the framework of Law .. He performs his actions as ordained in the scriptures or referrance books .. He follows norms and performs any action as it is expected to be performed ..
Yashtavyam Iti Manah Samaadhaaya : "This is to be done" . "This must be done" . Such are his convictions behind performing any action ..
How does a Sattvika perform a sacrifice (Religious ritual) ?? This needs to be done or this has to be done is the only resolution and motivation behind his performing a sacrifice ritual .. He is detached from and is not concerned with fruits from the sacrificial ritual .. Lack of desire for fruits and absence of anxiety for getting the fruits does not mean his action will be half-heatred or and resort to short cuts .. He will strictly follow the norms and will perform the sacrifice as ordained in Shastras or Religious scriptures .. Reason for such traits in him is the dominant Sattva Guna in him .. Sattva Guna prompts him to perform in the way performs ..
