தபஹ ராஜஸம் .. (அத்யாயம் 17 - ஶ்லோகம் 18)
Tapah Raajasam .. (Chapter 17 - Shlokam 18)
Meaning : This is Tapas (Austerity) by the person in Mode of Passion (Raajasik) ..
Dambha or ostentatious display is inevitable part of any action by the person in mode of passion , i . e .; the Rajasik person ... He performs his actions for the sake of gaining honour , respect and adoration ... And we are aware of his attachment with fruits of his action .. So , his Tapas is conducted with flamboyance and is showy .. Moreover , he does not focus on modalities of Tapas and the obvious and subtle fruits accrued from Tapas .. His whole focus is on praises showered by persons oblivious of Tapas , on admiration by persons totally ignorant of Tapas , on respect shown by persons ineligible to comment on Tapas .. so says Shri Krishna ..
