PHRASES IN THE GITA - 250

दानं तत्तामसम् .. (अध्याय १७ - श्लोक २२)
தானம் தத்தாமஸம் .. (அத்யாயம் 17 - ஶ்லோகம் 22)
Daanam Tattaamasam .. (Chapter 17 - Shlokam 22)

Meaning : That is Charity by the person in Mode of Ignorance (Taamasika) ..

Ignorance is an important trait of Taamasi or (the person in mode of ignorance) .. It is obvious that the Taamasi donates at an improper place , at an inappropriate time and to an unqualified person .. Donation by a Taamasi is result of lack of thoughts ..

Asat Bhaavana or flimsy and unreal thoughts is another trait of a Taamasi .. It is hence natural that he donates to flimsy and unworthy causes .. He donates without any respect for the receiver .. In a donation , the donor's hands are above and receiver's are below .. The donor obviously develops an arrogance through the act of donation .. This can be avoided by donating with humility .. "I am able to give only this" ; "This is a humble offering" and such thoughts are suggested by the Vedas .. But , the Taamasi can not .. He neither harbours love nor respect for the receiver and donates with arrogance ..

ॐ ஜ , ஷ , ஸ , ஹ , ஶ , க்ஷ , ஸ்ரீ என்ற எழுத்துக்களை வடமொழி எழுத்துக்கள் என்கிறான் ஒருவன். ஸம்ஸ்க்ருத எழுத்து என்கிறான் ஒருவன் . மூடர்கள் . அறியாமையில் பேசுகின்றனர் . தவறான நோக்கத்துடன், நம்முள் பேதத்தை ஏற்படுத்திட எவனோ புதைத்துச் சென்ற விஷத்தை , அது விஷம் என்று கூட அறியாமல் பேசுகின்றனர் . வட என்பது திஶை . திஶைக்கு மொழி கிடையாது . (இசைக்கும் மொழி கிடையாது . கவிதைக்குதான் மொழி . தமிழிசை மன்றம் என்பதெல்லாம் அபத்தம் .) தமிழகத்திற்கு வடக்கில் பாரத தேஶத்தின் அத்தனை ப்ராந்தங்களும் (கேரளம் தவிர்த்து) உள்ளன . தெலுங்கு , மராடீ , போஜ்புரி , குஜராதீ ... அனைத்து மொழிகளும் வட திஶையில் பேசப்படும் மொழிகள் . இவை எல்லாம் வடமொழிகள் . (கன்யாகுமரி ஆளுக்கு சென்னை பாஷை கூட வடமொழிதான்) . இந்த எல்லா மொழிகளிலும் இந்த ஶப்தங்களுக்கு எழுத்துக்கள் உண்டு . தெலுங்கில் జ , స , హ .. . என்றும் , கன்னடத்தில் ಜ , ಸ , ಹ , ಕ್ಷ .. என்றும் , மராடீயில் . ज , स , ह , श , क्ष,.. என்றும் குஜராதியில் જ , સ , હા , ક્ષ , என்றும் , ப...

(அத்யாயம் 4 - ஶ்லோகம் 13) Chatur VarNyam Mayaa Srushtam GuNa Karma Vibhaagashah ... August 28th... Flying visit to Chennai..

ॐ Out of the net for three days. Fying visits to Chennai on 28th and to Erode on the 30th. 29th was Shravana Poornimaa, day for License renewal . Went to Chennai for inauguration of ABVP Karyalayam. There was a day long meet of old workers of Vidyarthi Parishad. Recall of memories is always a refreshing experience. Probably, that is the reason why many want to live with 'glorious' old memories. Those days when our only asset was Enthusiasm at its best. Karyalaya, funds, facilities like vehicle, phone, etc. support, numerical strength, and other resources were on the lower side. Peanuts, Tea, Walk, long and short ones. Nevertheless, it was a great experience with high level of affectionate team working and sharing, hectic activism, great dreams. Nagpur Sangam Chawl Karyalayam was a tiled hut, but was always full of students. Similar in Chennai Ezhumbur Karyalaya. Now, there is no paucity of resources. We have best Karyalaya, powerful support, access to political power,...
