Meaning : Giving up actions because these are troublesome or cause bodily discomfort is renunciation by those in the mode of passion , the Rajo Gunee ..
Person with predominant Rajo Guna or the person in mode of 'passion' passionately involves in actions .. But , there is no guarantee that he'll do the deeds which are to be done .. He'll refrain from doing this if he regards the action as 'painful' or 'a cause of discomfort' .. The passion in him also incites him to passionately expect and seek fruits of his actions .. The action may not be right and worth doing .. But , the Rajo Gunee will perform this , if the fruits seem luring .. On the other hand , if the fruits appear unworthy for him , he will refrain from performing an action , even if he is aware of its worthiness .. Shri Krishna calls this 'Rajasik' giving up , giving up of an action because it is 'painful' or causes bodily discomfort or because the fruits from the action are not attractive ..
Rajasi refuses to sit for Yagya or 'sacrifice ritual' because it is discomfort and painful to sit long and be surrounded by smoke .. Or he commands the priest to complete the ritual in short ..
