PHRASES IN THE GITA - 260


अधिष्ठानं कर्ता करणं चेष्टा दैव पञ्चैतानि कारणानि  ..  (अध्याय १८ - श्लोक १३ , १४)
அதிஷ்டானம் கர்தா கரணம் சேஷ்டா தைவம் பஞ்சைதானி காரணானி  ..  (அத்யாயம் 18 - ஶ்லோகம் 13 , 14)
Adhishthaanam Kartaa Karanam Cheshtaa Dhaivam Panchaitaani Kaaranaani ..  (Chapter 18 - Shloka 13 , 14)

Meaning :  The body , the doer , the sensory powers , various efforts and the Divine are the five factors of action ..

There are five factors essential for actions (Karma) ..  Adhishtaanam is the base ..  His body is the basic factor for humans for performance of every action ..  Actions are possible only so long as there is the body ..  The second factor is Kartaa or the doer ..  Kartaa is the one staying in the body , involved in actions with the sense of being the 'Doer' ..  The third factor is Karanam or the instruments for action ..  His sense organs and his organs of action are the instruments for action ..  The fourth factor is Cheshtaa or the many efforts put in towards the action ..  The Divine is the fifth factor ..  The action is completed if the Divine also stands by , if God approves the action ..

This is true in all types of action ..  "Am hungry ..  Have to satiate hunger by feeding" That is Adhishtaan or base factor for action ..  The hungry is Kartaa or the Doer ..  He sees ripe mangoes laden tree and decides to pluck a fruit ..  His hands , eyes , legs , a bamboo , rope , knife , stone etc . are the Karanam or instruments of action ..  Jump and try to reach the mango , throw a stone , use the bamboo to strike at a mango , tie a knife to the bamboo and try to cut a mango from the tree etc . are the various efforts and are Cheshtaa ..  The Divine is of course the fifth factor ..  He determines whether the mango is to be reached , plucked , whether the mango is edible - ripe or worm ridden ..  He decides if the mango is eaten and hunger satiated ..

In field of Science research , the research till date is the Adhishtaan or base ..  Scientist is Kartaa ..  Various instruments and scientific equipments , the laboratory , his own intellect etc . are Karanam ..  Various efforts in the many directions of ideas are Cheshtaa ..  The Divine of course is the ultimate factor ..  He determines if the research is to proceed and succeed ..

(இசைக்கும் மொழி கிடையாது . கவிதைக்குதான் மொழி . தமிழிசை மன்றம் என்பதெல்லாம் அபத்தம் .) தமிழகத்திற்கு வடக்கில் பாரத தேஶத்தின் அத்தனை ப்ராந்தங்களும் (கேரளம் தவிர்த்து) உள்ளன . தெலுங்கு , மராடீ , போஜ்புரி , குஜராதீ ... அனைத்து மொழிகளும் வட திஶையில் பேசப்படும் மொழிகள் .  இவை எல்லாம் வடமொழிகள் . (கன்யாகுமரி ஆளுக்கு சென்னை பாஷை கூட வடமொழிதான்) . இந்த எல்லா மொழிகளிலும் இந்த ஶப்தங்களுக்கு எழுத்துக்கள் உண்டு .   தெலுங்கில் జ  , స  , హ .. . என்றும் ,   கன்னடத்தில்   ಜ , ಸ , ಹ , ಕ್ಷ .. என்றும் , மராடீயில் . ज , स , ह , श , क्ष,.. என்றும் குஜராதியில்     જ , સ , હા , ક્ષ  , என்றும் ,   ப...
