सर्वार्थान्विपरीतांश्च सा बुद्धि तामसी .. (अध्याय १८ - श्लोक ३२)
ஸர்வார்தான் விபரீதாம்ஶ்ச ஸா புத்தி தாமஸீ .. (அத்யாயம் 18 - ஶ்லோகம் 32)
Sarvaarthaan Vipareetaamscha saa Buddhi Taamasi ... (Chapter 18 - Shlokam 32)
Meaning : The Intellect which knows the right as wrong and wrong as right is Taamasi ..
The intellect of Tamasi nature knows wrongly .. The chief trait of Tamas is ignorance .. Laziness adds to it .. Hence , eagerness to know is curbed .. And if obstinacy joins ?? The knowledge is accrued is exactly opposite to what is right ..
One must know the right through own thinking .. Or must approach the knowledgeable with humility and seek to know .. Discretionary ability is absent in the person with Tamasa trait .. Laziness rooted in him retards thinking process in him .. His obstinacy stops him from humbly approaching others for gaining knowledge .. Naturally , the Tamasik person knows everything wrongly .. He sees the right as wrong and regards wrong as right ...
