These are words of Sanjaya , the charioteer of blind king Dhrutarashtra .. Sanjaya had a special power .. Divine eye sight .. He could see and narrate the happenings on the battle field to the blind king , without actually being on the battle field .. This power was bestowed on him by Shri Veda Vyasa .. Blessings of Shri Veda Vyasa ..
Shri Veda Vyasa , in fact wished to offer Divine sight to the blind king , which would have facilitated him to view the battlefield Kurukshetra , from his mansion in Hastinapur , a hundred Kilo Meters away .. But , Dhrutarashtra refused to take the offer .. He felt he would not be able to see death of his children .. The guilt feeling in him made him think that defeat and death of his sons are certain .. Shri Veda Vyasa bestowed this Divine power to his charioteer Shri Sanjaya .. Thus Sanjaya got this power by accident ..
